Peter and Maria Gonzales / 1970 Ford LTD
Peter and Maria Gonzales went car shopping on October 26, 1970. Peter's dad had a 1970 Ford LTD and he was looking for something like that, comfortable and plenty of room for the family of 3. They found their way to Central Motors at the intersection of Washington and Figueroa in Los Angeles.
Once there they spotted this 1970 Fastback and one year to the day of the birth of their first daughter they found the car they were looking for. The styling of the fastback with white interior and a dash with a hint of the cockpit or instrument panel of an airplane that wraps around the drivers area attracted them enough that to this day they still own and drive it.
Originally medium ivy metallic with a green vinyl top, it was repainted the current semi dark green with black vinyl top. The 351 engine was rebuilt in the past also and there are plans to rebuild it again in the future as it wasn't done well the first time. Two of Peter and Maria's 3 children got their first rides to and from the hospital, the day they were born and the day
they got to come home for the first time. Right there is something that would also make it difficult to part with such
a vehicle. A history that makes it a part of the family. Hope they have many more years of driving this great Ford!
